Complete file, bound in 52 volumes, 44 of them in green cloth stamped in gold, spines indicating volume numbers, spine label rubbed off first 14 volumes. Final seven volumes in red cloth binding with gilt lettering on spine. Condition of issues varies, binding generally sound and tight, indexes bound in to several volumes. Alfredson/Daily 6420. The Sphinx is at once a resource for collectors, performers, and historians, a font of endless information. The condition of most files — the few complete files that exist — varies widely in that issues published in the 1910s and 20s are often encountered in tattered and ragged condition due to the cheap paper on which they were printed; this file is, on the whole, in remarkably good condition and would be the pride of any discerning conjurer's library.
